My love affair with food is something serious. I think part of it is because my mom was a personal chef and caterer in her former life. When I was growing up, food was an integral part of my socialization. Sunday dinner was a big deal. Major holidays ALWAYS included a huge spread that would rival anything you’d see Martha Stewart cook up. And Mom’s food was so ridiculously mouthwatering that no one, I repeat, no one ever cared that it was one hundred percent vegan.
I’m a foodie, and yes, a lifelong vegan as well. People sometimes look at me like I have three heads when I tell them that I have been vegan since birth; that’s what I was thrilled when my good friend (and client) Brie Wright over at Carolina STYLE Magazine asked me to contribute to a story she was writing about vegan dining here in Charlotte, NC. It may seem like a minor thing, but that small validation was kinda cool. So take a look, read the story and let me know what you think.
